Sen Yuan Lai's inspiration for the Artistic Home Among Trees came from the Japanese style of design, known for its simplicity, use of natural materials, and the concept of borrowing the view from the outdoors. The public space within this residential community is a perfect embodiment of these principles. It serves as a transition between the private housing units and the outside world, providing residents with a space that is both communal and intimate.
